Project Year 2023

Purpose

This catalog is one of Spokane Hardware Supply’s most comprehensive design assets. The goal was to create a clean, structured, easy-to-navigate reference piece that organizes hundreds of SKUs across multiple product categories. I designed the full layout system, built a consistent visual language, and prepared all press-ready files.

Scope

The scope included full catalog layout and structure, product data formatting, image editing, category divider design, and complete press-ready file preparation.

Tools and Platforms Used

Adobe InDesign for full catalog layout and structure
Adobe Photoshop for image correction, cropping, and optimization
Adobe Illustrator for vector elements + icons
EZCatalog for product data integration and catalog generation
Content management platform (TOPDOG) for sourcing and organizing product details
Google Workspace for collaboration, version control, and content revisions
Airtable for SKU tracking, asset organization, and workflow management

How I built this project:

Improved catalog readability and made product lookup faster for users.
Strengthened brand consistency across all pages and categories.
Reduced revisions and errors through a streamlined data workflow.
Created a scalable system for future catalogs with reusable layouts.
Supported vendor relationships with clean, accurate product presentation.
Simplified internal collaboration with organized content review.
Delivered a polished, professional publication aligned with SHS branding.

The final catalog not only improved brand consistency but also strengthened internal workflows, reduced production time, and enhanced the customer experience.

How I built this project:

Organized all product data and content through Airtable + CMS tools before layout.
Built a modular grid system to keep every page clean and consistent.
Created reusable templates for product pages and category dividers.
Standardized all imagery with consistent cropping and color adjustments.
Integrated product data through EZCatalog for accurate updates.
Verified specs and details through coordination with product managers.
Refined typography and spacing for easy navigation.
Completed review rounds to adjust layout flow and content accuracy.
Exported final press-ready files and coordinated proofs with the printer.
